RunAI (“RunAI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal data when you use our services (“Services”), including when you visit runai.io or any website that links to this Privacy Policy, download and use our mobile application, or interact with us in connection with sales, marketing, support, or events.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.
If you have any questions, contact us at contact@runai.io.
We collect information you provide to us, information generated through your use of the Services, and certain device and usage data.
We may process health-related data and precise location data where you choose to provide it or grant device permissions.
We may receive information from third parties such as social login providers, app stores, analytics providers, and connected accounts such as Garmin if you choose to connect them.
RunAI does not generally publicly display individual runs in the standard product experience. However, some leaderboard, profile, or client-specific custom implementations may display or share run-related details, including route data, distance, and other activity metrics, as described in this Privacy Policy.
We may display summary information through leaderboard features. This can include your current monthly distance, as well as certain lifetime statistics and profile elements such as total lifetime runs, total lifetime distance, total lifetime time, calories burned, streaks, and your custom 3D avatar.
In some cases, custom client leaderboard pages may be viewable on the web without login.
Users cannot opt out of appearing on global, national, or friends leaderboards while using the Services. If a user deletes their account, leaderboard entries and leaderboard profile visibility are generally removed within 30 days, although limited residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.
We may use AI to generate insights, summaries, and references. We do not use your personal data, including Garmin data, to train our AI models.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or otherwise control your personal data under applicable law.
We collect personal information you provide directly to us when you register, update your account, contact us, or otherwise use the Services.
This may include your name, email address, phone number if provided, username, profile information, and mailing address if provided.
Depending on how you use the Services and your device permissions, we may process activity and fitness-related data.
This may include distance, duration, pace, cadence, splits, elevation, timestamps, workout metrics, route data, GPS traces, photos, notes, and other activity-related information.
We may collect precise location data if you grant permission, for example for route tracking.
We may also collect approximate location, such as location inferred from your IP address.
You can control location permissions through your device settings, but some features may not function properly if location access is disabled.
We may automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you use the Services.
This may include your IP address, device model, operating system version, language, app and website usage activity, timestamps, interactions, crash logs, and performance data.
If you subscribe through Apple App Store or Google Play, the relevant platform may provide us with information such as purchase status, subscription tier, renewal or expiry details, and transaction identifiers.
We generally do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payment processing is handled by the app store provider.
We may receive information from social login providers, app stores, connected accounts such as Garmin, analytics and fraud prevention providers, and advertising or offer wall partners where those features are enabled.
We use your personal data to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
This includes creating and managing accounts, tracking activity, storing activity history, syncing connected accounts, providing customer support, detecting abuse or fraud, maintaining security, and complying with legal obligations.
We also use data to operate social and community features, including monthly leaderboards, leaderboard profile pages, and client-specific custom leaderboard implementations.
Where applicable to a feature or client implementation, we may use and display run-related details such as route data, GPS traces, distance, duration, pace, timestamps, and other activity metrics in connection with leaderboard, profile, event, competition, or client reporting features.
We may use your information to provide product analytics, debugging, service improvement, research and development, and marketing communications where permitted by law and consistent with your preferences.
We may use your profile country to determine national leaderboard placement. This country information may be based on information obtained from your device.
Depending on your location and applicable law, we may rely on one or more legal bases to process your personal data.
These may include your consent, performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and, in limited cases, protection of vital interests.
Where consent is required, you may withdraw it subject to applicable law and any consequences of doing so for certain features. Under Singapore’s PDPA, organisations must collect, use, or disclose personal data only for purposes the individual has consented to where required, must allow withdrawal of consent with reasonable notice, and must limit collection, use, and disclosure to purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate.
We may share personal data with service providers that help us operate the Services, such as providers of hosting, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, customer support, and security monitoring.
If you subscribe through Apple or Google, your purchase is processed by those platforms and we may receive related subscription information from them.
If the Services include advertising, analytics, or offer wall functionality, we may share limited information such as a device identifier or user ID for attribution, fraud prevention, delivery of offers, and performance measurement.
We may also share personal data in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or sale of assets.
We may disclose personal data where required by law or where necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the Services.
If you connect Garmin, we may communicate with Garmin to retrieve the data you authorise and maintain that connection.
We may also display or disclose limited information about you to other users, clients, and in some cases web visitors through leaderboard, profile, and custom client features as described below.
RunAI does not generally publicly display individual runs in the standard product experience.
However, some features may display or disclose run-related details to other users, clients, or web visitors. This may happen in standard leaderboard/profile features or in custom client leaderboard implementations.
We may display your current monthly distance on monthly leaderboards. These may include global, national, and friends leaderboards.
Monthly leaderboard totals may update in real time, or near real time, as eligible activity data is recorded, imported, or synced.
Monthly totals may include both data recorded directly in RunAI and eligible data imported or synced from connected sources.
A user’s position in a national leaderboard may be determined using the user’s profile country, which may be based on country or regional information obtained from the user’s device.
When someone opens a user profile from a leaderboard, we may display certain lifetime profile statistics and profile elements. These may include total lifetime runs, total lifetime distance, total lifetime time, total lifetime calories burned, streak information, and the user’s custom 3D avatar.
This information may be visible inside the app to users who can access the relevant leaderboard or leaderboard profile.
In some cases, it may also be visible on web-based custom leaderboard pages created for clients, including pages that may be accessible without login.
Users cannot opt out of appearing on global, national, or friends leaderboards while using the Services.
The lifetime statistics, streaks, and custom 3D avatar shown on leaderboard profile pages are currently part of the leaderboard experience and cannot be hidden by users.
For some custom leaderboard implementations requested by clients, we may display or share additional run details beyond summary statistics.
Depending on the implementation, this may include:
These custom leaderboard pages or related views may be available inside the app, on the web, or through client-specific pages. In some cases, they may be accessible without login.
Because route and run-level details may reveal sensitive information about your movements, routines, and activity patterns, you should use the Services with that in mind.
If we materially change what is displayed or shared in leaderboard, profile, or custom client features, we may update this Privacy Policy and provide additional notice where required. Under the PDPA, organisations should clearly notify individuals of the purposes of collection, use, and disclosure, including the types of personal data involved and third parties to whom data may be disclosed.
We may use cookies and similar technologies, including pixels, local storage, and SDKs, to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance, and measure marketing effectiveness where applicable.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. On mobile devices, you can also manage certain tracking and permissions through your device settings.
If you choose to register or sign in using a social login provider, we may receive certain information from that provider, such as your name, email address, profile photo, and other information you permit the provider to share.
We use this information to authenticate you and provide the Services.
We do not control how the social login provider uses your information, so you should review that provider’s privacy policy.
If you choose to connect your Garmin account, we will import the Garmin activity data that you authorise through the Garmin connection.
Depending on what you enable and what Garmin makes available, this may include activities and related metrics such as distance, duration, pace, cadence, elevation, timestamps, and GPS route traces.
We use imported Garmin data to sync and display your activities in the Services and to provide features you request, such as activity history, summaries, insights, and leaderboard calculations where applicable.
We may use automated systems, including AI models, to process your activity data, including imported Garmin data, to generate insights, summaries, and references.
We do not use your personal data, including Garmin data, to train our AI models.
We import data from Garmin into RunAI. We do not upload or send your RunAI activity data back to Garmin through this integration unless we clearly state otherwise in the future.
You can disconnect Garmin at any time through the Services and/or Garmin settings. Disconnecting Garmin stops future imports. Previously imported data may remain associated with your account unless you delete it in the Services or request deletion from us.
We do not ask for your Garmin password. The connection is handled through Garmin’s authorisation process.
Our servers are located in Singapore, but your personal data may be processed in other countries by us or by our service providers.
Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure that appropriate protections are in place as required under applicable law. Under Singapore’s PDPA, overseas transfers must be made in a way that ensures a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, unless an exception applies.
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
As a general guideline, we retain account and activity data while your account is active.
After account deletion or termination, we generally delete or anonymise data within 3 months, unless we need to retain certain information for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or backup management.
Backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
If you delete your account, your leaderboard entries and leaderboard profile visibility are generally removed within 30 days, including from in-app leaderboard features and applicable web-based custom leaderboard pages, although residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.
We will stop retaining personal data, or remove the means by which it can be associated with you, when it is no longer needed for legal or business purposes.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal data.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where required by applicable law, we will notify relevant authorities and affected individuals of eligible data breaches.
The Services are not intended for individuals under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 13.
If you are under 18, you should use the Services only with the permission of your parent or legal guardian.
If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete it and deactivate the account where appropriate.
If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us at contact@runai.io.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate personal data, withdraw consent for certain processing, request deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, and request data portability where applicable.
You can opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us. You may still receive service-related communications such as account, billing, or security messages.
We do not send marketing messages by SMS, voice calls, or fax.
You can also control permissions such as location, notifications, and storage access through your device settings.
Under Singapore’s PDPA, individuals have access and correction rights, and organisations must allow withdrawal of consent with reasonable notice.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting.
Because there is no consistent industry standard for responding to Do Not Track signals, we do not currently respond to them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may also notify you through the Services or by other reasonable means where appropriate.
